Fyve Health Launch

Fyve Labs has launched our first company, Fyve Health. We created it to address a challenge that many of us will face in our own lives. Our first product, Tessa, comes from personal experience and a shared desire to support families caring for aging loved ones.

Heard but not watched

Caregiving is part of my own story. My family has supported both of my parents over the years, and much of that care has happened from far away. The distance can be difficult, especially in the quiet moments when I cannot reach my mom and hear she is alright. Those are the moments that stay with me.

When I brought this to the Fyve Labs team, we saw a chance to build something useful and human. We spoke with many family caregivers and found the same themes. People want to stay connected. They want to help. They want to preserve dignity. They do not want surveillance. They want support. And they want to know that mom is OK.

Tessa was shaped through those conversations.

Tessa provides a way to stay informed without intruding. It listens for key events in the home, summarizes what matters, and shares meaningful insights through a family app. This includes signals like sleep changes, missed visits, or distress. Families can set how much detail they see. Privacy is respected. Independence is protected.

The prototype is already in our homes and with our loved ones. We will continue refining it into a simple, plug-and-play experience for families who want caregiving to feel steady, loving, and respectful.

Thank you for being part of this community. More updates are on the way, including our logo reveal and early findings.

With gratitude,

James

Tessa Highlights at a Glance

  • Active home trials: End-to-end prototype testing is underway, surfacing what's useful day to day.

  • Growing demand: 25 new wait-listed alpha testers, with more inbound interest from families and partners.

  • Richer context: Tessa now recognizes 152+ household sounds, helping distinguish meaningful events from background noise.

  • Stronger foundation: Mobile app, off-shelf hardware and API infrastructure prepared for a larger beta cohort.

Research and validation

Insights from interviews and surveys continue to align around three principles: preserve dignity, reduce cognitive load for families, and communicate the right things at the right time. Our MVP deployments are confirming that targeted, context-aware updates can replace the always-on vigilance many caregivers feel today.

  • "Any change in anything is a huge thing at this stage."

  • "I feel 24/7 on call—sometimes I have to drive immediately."

  • "We need privacy. Cameras don't feel right—sound is better."

  • "She ignores reminders—notify family about what actually matters."

These voices guide our product decisions, from what Tessa surfaces to how often it communicates. The feedback loop between real homes and our build process is now weekly, and in some cases daily, as we refine sensitivity, thresholds, and notification patterns.

By the numbers

  • 25 alpha testers on the waitlist

  • 152+ unique household sounds recognized

Big legislation win

Policymakers, providers, and families are converging on the same need: dignified, practical tools that ease caregiving. Public and private interest in memory care technology continues to rise, reinforcing our focus on approaches that respect privacy while meaningfully improving quality of life.

As Tessa gains traction in the market, we are planning how to accelerate as quickly as possible with the essential needs we hear from our potential customers.

Meanwhile, we are excited to learn that Texas has passed Proposition 14 that sets aside $3B in funds to research Alzheimers! This bi-partisan bill will bring much needed funding and research to a rapidly growing disease afflicting our loved ones.

What's next

We're preparing the next phase of testing with a broader beta cohort. The near-term emphasis is reliability, clarity, and caregiver trust: fewer alerts, more meaning, and effortless control. We'll continue to share milestones as we scale responsibly.

  • November: Onboard earliest alpha users and expand home trials

  • December: Validate willingness to pay with initial paid customers

  • Mid-term: Scale to 500 active users with resilient operations and support
